So, I live in the South and right now we are having a very mild winter, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make soups and other comfort foods. It’s that time of year! I will be posting some amazing things like Roasted Butternut Squash Soup and Broccoli Stilton Soup! Yum!
For starters, let’s do a phenomenal Southern delight…sweet potato fries! In the oven, of course. This is Sizzle Cooks, you know!
Grab a washed sweet potato and lop the ends off. Just a little to even it up. Turn your oven to 450°.
Cut the potato in half or thirds. You want to cut it the length you want your fries. Then, slice into half inch pieces like in the picture below.
Now cut them one more time so they are about a half inch thick.
Place them in a bowl and drizzle enough olive oil over them to coat evenly.
Add some fresh cracked pepper, a sprinkle of sea salt, and a dash of cinnamon.
Toss to coat.
Spread the potatoes out on a sheet pan.
Bake at 450° for 15 minutes. They should look slightly browned. Remove pan and flip the fries over. Bake for 10 minutes more or until desired crispiness.
